Strongly recommended as a free (donations welcome) from Govan to the stunning Riverside transport museum - or to visit the excellent Govan Stones if heading from the Museum to the south of river -long may the ferry run.

Waverley is the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world. Offering Day, Afternoon and Evening Cruises from a port near you! Enjoy unrivalled access to Britain's Coasts, Rivers and Islands.Magnificently restored with towering funnels, timber decks, gleaming varnish and brass. See and hear the mighty engines - they will provide a whiff of nostalgia for some but are sure to impress all!
We had another great trip out on the Waverley, starting from Tower Pier in London. After stopping at Gravesend, during the trip down the river Thames, we decided to get off at Southend for a couple of pints. You get a couple of hours here, if you don't want to stay on to go out to the Forts in the Thames estuary. After getting back on for the trip back up the Thames, we got off at Gravesend to round off another nice trip out. This is the 3rd time now we have done this, and looking forward to next time.
