We enjoyed the gardens, they really are beautiful. Then we asked if we could have a tour of the house. The attendant was very knowledgeable, friendly, and gave great explanations of details that we would not have known about. Our experience was greatly enhanced by having the Gardens attendant provide some wonderful narrative and added fabric and color of history and personality to our visit. Memorable, thank you!

I love going to lesser-known attractions in Texas and this one deserves more attention. The International Exotic Animal Sanctuary is an excellent animal conservation organization and the animals appear to be getting excellent care. This is not a zoo, although the animals, of course, are all contained by high wire fences. The animals are allowed to roam in large, natural habitats, and you see them because they will hang around their bedding and feeding areas much of the time. Although the posted office hours are 8-4, the office opened at 10am and our tour started soon after. Our tour took about an hour and a half, and our guide, a volunteer of 16? years, was very informative and pleasant, as were all the staff we met. We not only saw the beautiful animals, especially the young male lion, but also toured the kitchen where the feeding and nutrition of the animals was explained. The paths are gravel and there is a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes, and in the Texas heat, buy a bottle of water at the gift store next to the office. The staff will drive you around in an electric golf-cart if needed. Small children [under 7?] are not allowed, so call before you go if bringing children. Free, but with suggested donation and all donations go to help the animals. A wonderful and informative visit.

The GEM is a community center, much like the YMCA. The GEM offers a full training circuit, free weights, cardio equipment, pool, gymnasium, basketball and volleyball, aerobics classes (including water aerobics & ZUMBA) and childcare. We also offer Performing Arts training including Singing, Acting & Dance. We offer cooking classes and seminars, community events (like movie nights & ice cream socials), and much more! Check out our website for the latest on what is happening at The GEM!
We use to belong to the Gem. Classes were great most of those teachers have left. The noise from the children just left there by their parents became so bad we could no longer enjoy Yoga class. The children also didn't wipe down the machines and were a distraction to those of us who were trying to use the gym. Cost is to high for what you get. They are supposed to be a church and non profit but I don't believe that is there goal. The machines have become broken down and are not fixed. They go through employees very quickly and it has just become a drop off for people who want their children watched why they do other things

We totally love this place. We started going to Thistleridge 1 month after they opened. Linn, the owner was a blessing! Friendly, always smiling and well educated about the wines. She has only six to choose from, but they are super good. We had her "cheese board". OMG, it was huge. It was well worth the money.
She has a small boutique and has a variety of things to sell. Plus she sells a super tasting BBQ sauce!
I recommend this winery to everyone! Thanks Linn! Mike & Mary Crowley, Texas

Capernaum 1st Century Village and Majestic Statue Garden is unlike anything of its kind in North America. The village is a replica of an authentic first century village with several single and multilevel stone houses and other structures of that era. The garden is over 30,000 sq. ft. with statues and other life size features taking visitors from Creation through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We really enjoyed Capernaum Village! The statue gardens were nice, but the kids said their favorite parts were the manger and the last supper room. I agree. ..I loved the last supper set-up! :) We must have gone on an off-time. ..we were the only...MoreSo happy your family enjoyed it. The last supper is one of our crowd favorites :) Glad you had a chance to experience the peacefulness we enjoy here everyday. Looking forward to having you out again soon.
