Hi, 2 hours and half south of Paris is this chateau to visit with you family, your friends or even in a group. In the visit, you will discover : hundreds of years of history, new technology and a tradition of wine-making. Renaissance buildings, a medieval castle, a small childern’s farm and grounds of 2 hectares which also forms the setting for festivals. All in the center of the town. Our fine wines, made at the chateau are now on sale ! You will certainly enjoy a good, varied experience with your family and friends.
I traveled here as part of a group that made a welcome stop at this charming chateau. Nicolas greeted our group and shared the history of the chateau and the work that he and his wife are doing to restore this to its former glory. Nicolas was a charming and funny host and he took us through a tasting of three of their wines, all which I enjoyed (and of course had to buy a few bottles to drink for later!). He also paired each of the wines with a cheese and very thoroughly took us through the properties of each cheese and why he paired it with the particular wine. It's about an hour away from Bourges (another great find) on your way to Amboise, so it's a nice stop to help break up the drive. I hope that Chateau du Selles sur Cher begins distributing its wines in the US so we can enjoy it here stateside. Thank you for treating us to a wonderful afternoon!
