Nestled in the Salt River Hills of north-central Missouri, Mark Twain State Park gives visitors access to sprawling Mark Twain Lake, as well as unparalleled outdoors activities. The terrain is covered by bluffs overlooking the lake and stands of oak, hickory and maple that are filled with white-tailed deer, Turkey and other wildlife. Numerous picnic areas, two four-lane boat ramps and more than six miles of hiking trails with lake views offer something for everyone.
I have visited this park many many times. There are so many things to do. The trails are well marked and maintained. You can visit a beach, boat, hike, horseback ride, fish and lots of other things! I would recommend staying a day or two to enjoy more of it!

Rockcliffe Mansion is an amazing Thirteen Thousand Five Hundred SF, Thirty room, Grand Residence built to overlook the Mighty Mississippi between 1898 and 1900 by Lumber Baron John J Cruikshank, Jr. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This place is amazing...a must-see if you are visiting Hannibal. We took a tour on our way home from Chicago, and loved it so much we decided to stay the night.. The mansion is magnificently beautiful, the best of many we've seen in the area. And unique because it is a time capsule that sat vacant for nearly 50 years, with many of the original features such as furniture, fireplaces, Tiffany stained glass, woodwork, leather and velvet wall coverings, window treatments, state-of-the-art bath fixtures circa 1900 in perfect working order, and even clothing from the original owners still intact. The owners were very hospitable and are lovingly restoring the place. I highly recommend a stay here!

Well I'm rating the campground and the water park because mark twain landing is the campground and the water park is called The Splash Landing.
The campground is great! It's Quiet, activities are planned for kids, the campsite is well groomed. They have fire pits, cable, wireless internet that is pretty slow when everybody is here but we're camping not trying to connect to all of wireless devices. It gives the kids an opportunity to tune in to their devices if they must and than spend time doing camping stuff. Their is a swimming pool at the campground that is perfectly clean. It's a little pricey but I feel it keeps the riff raff out.
The water park is a little crappy. Everything needs painted...the wave pool water was green! I really can't believe they don't do something about that. I was told price per person for the water park was $25 a person and that is crazy. We stayed at the campground so they have a special of $72 for 8 wristbands if your at the campground. That's not bad and I feel like it was worth the $.
The have a bar and the drink prices are very reasonable for a water park. They have a bucket of beers for $13 which gets you 6 drinks.
The kids loved the water park/campground so I gave it a 4 star the water park I'd probably give a 3 star and if I had to pay $25 to get in I'd give it a 2 star. It's not worth $25.

Nothing says “Missouri literature” like Mark Twain. And nothing says “Mark Twain was here” like the state historic site that bears his name. Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site has the two-room rented cabin Samuel Clemens – Twain’s real name – was born in, first editions of many of the author’s works, a handwritten manuscript of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and many of the furnishings from Twain’s Connecticut home. The site also has a public reading room for personal study and research.
After touring Hanibal we decided to detour to see Florida Missourri to see Mark Twain actual birth place. Its quite a distance away and there is little to see. Even the location where the cottage was is questionable. Overall it's not worth the drive.

Imagine this: you and your friends have been put in a room. You'll have one hour to figure out the escape code by solving a series of inventive puzzles. Our escape rooms allow people to leave the world of screens and engage face to face and because there are different types of challenges, each member on a team has a time when they are able to be the hero.
My friends and I have been to a couple escape rooms, and Mississippi Mind Trap is just as good as the big city's! The puzzles were challenging and fun, the props were all well made and some were very intriguing--took some serious thought and ingenuity...MoreThanks for the great feedback. We enjoy hearing about the fun times had in our rooms.
