This was built in the early 1900s as a general store - about the same time as the first vines were planted on the peninsula by the Bailleau-Myer family in 1920 on the nearby Elgee estate. Today it retains much of its old world charm coupled with a French provincial ambience - whitewashed interiors and rustic tables and chairs- and offers three large dining areas with a light airy outlook over the rustic surrounds. Next door is the owners original cottage which now operates as asn art gallery and on 2-3 times a year transforms into a pop up shop selling bespoke homewares and clothing from carefully selected artisans. So there’s more to Merricks than just a meal - and it’s open daily till 5pm. An enticing display if local Produce and selected wines from Several nearby wineries means you rarely leave without taking some local items home .

We attended here as a first stop for a tasting for a private winery tour we had organised. The staff were very helpful and were able to answer all questions. At the same time they were able to give us privacy to catch up as a group and take our time doing our tasting. This was a seated tasting which made it relaxed and not rushed. The wine also was delicious. I would definitely go back when up that way again.

Pt. Leo Estate is indeed a visual feast for all who visit with art, rolling vineyards and ocean views commanding the horizon as far as the eye can see. From the moment guests arrive, they are taken by the sweeping views that emerge in front of them encapsulating glimpses of Phillip Island, across the 50-acre vineyard, landscapes of grazing cattle and an expansive 19- acre Sculpture Park with the vast Westernport Bay. Comprising a Cellar Door & Wine Terrace at one end and ‘Laura’, our fine dining restaurant to the other, the Pt. Leo Restaurant experience sits at the heart of this world-class venue.
Had afternoon of wine tasting and watching the view from the restaurant of western port bay and the art works in the park

This is a long and wide beach which is an absolutely lovely place for a long romantic walk. Easily accessible from a car park close to the beach.
