We love coming here. Jonathan is fantastic. He has done private lessons with our girls, you couldn’t ask for more patience. The facility is top notch and always a place we look forward to going.

When I first visited Mayo River State Park, I knew it was a work in progress but I didn't know how big of a park it actually is. I've only recently discovered the Wiki page that says that it is over 2,000 acres and discovered that the local waterfall is part of it. If you go up DeShazo Road, there is a trailhead to go to Fall Creek Falls. The entry has pylons to prevent ATVs from coming in. The trail is wide and mostly level, with a steep part only at the falls themselves but I my 70-year old mother made it down and up with minimal help (a strategic push up the incline). The falls are beautiful and well worth the exploration. We passed people both going in and coming out so it is fairly well-trafficked.

Lovely grounds and cozy tasting room make this a place we check out ever few months or so. Never disappointed. Wish they had a few sandwiches or a substantial appetizer to keep us there without having to leave to seek a meal.

Mayodan Arts Center is a space to further community arts in the Town of Mayodan, North Carolina. Has gallery space with opportunities to buy local and hand made art, with a teaching space available.
The Mayodan Arts Center is as much of a movement as it is a venue for the arts. The center provides a location for artists, artisans, and art-lovers to unite. In the short couple of months of its existence, the MAC has already offered a wide variety of activities from painting to ornament making for kids. I stopped in during the Mayodan Stroll last Friday and was immediately impressed by the craftmanship of works on display. Big things are sure to happen at this little gallery on the corner.
