Just had my second visit to Bevel woodworking school. I made the bird house on my first visit and this weekend was spent making the Adirondack chair. Tommy is a fantastic teacher and very patient. The other participants were lovely, such a peaceful environment and happy atmosphere to spend quality time in. The bird house and the chair turned out amazing I'm delighted to say the least. I came straight home and booked my next visit to try the wood spirit and my brother was so impressed he's coming with me. Pauline Byrne

A fifteenth century castle built on the remains of a much earlier site. Following the arrival of the Anglo-Normans in Ireland in 1169, the district in which Fethard is situated was granted to a knight named Harvey de Montmorency. He, in turn, granted it to Christ Church, Canterbury, England. In 1200A.D. Canterbury ordered the construction of a castle at Fethard and a court to the north of the church, presumably on the site of the present castle.
