Divinubo Island is an islet located at east coast of the city of Borongan facing the Pacific Ocean. It has a rocky beach park (Karawisan resort) an 2 other private beach resort. You can do kayaking, snorekeling, caving, build a white sand castle, videoke and typically meet the local of the island and they're so nice and hospitable. Experience and feel the real sunrise to sundown. Very refreshing and relaxing way of your upcoming vacation..
If you are heading from the city proper, take a tricycle ride from the station beside Gleen Marketing along real st. going to lalawigan. Take off at the crossing near Lalawigan Elementary School and take a walk to the Pumpboat station for about 10mins from the highway. From their, take a Boat ride to the docking area of the Island (about 15-30minutes ride) and will cost you around P12/person. Best way to stay an overnight trail and to enjoy a night swimming by the rocky beach is at "Karawisan Beach Resort".. entrance fee starts at P5-P10. Cottage fee starts at P200-P250. An additional charge for an overnight stay and for the mattress, tents, kitchen, etc...
Thumbs up for Divinubo Island... Come and Visit them very soon.... The Islands best shots awaits you their.

I attended a very well patronised 1900 hours Sunday Mass (in English) although the Masses in the local Waray language have numerous standees, as not everyone is fluent in English.
The main altar was beautifully lit (as it was evening and hence dark.) The side altar dedicated to Our Lady of the Nativity was particularly worthy as it had hundreds of what looked like yellow daisies in vases.
The Cathedral's paintwork was gleaming and its tiled floor and upholstery on the pew kneelers obviously restored after Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) tore through in November 2013 (although Borongan was not as badly affected as Tacloban further south.)
There is a fair amount of parking outside the Cathedral.
The Mass had as its musician an electric guitarist which made the singing less well done than in any other Filipino Catholic Church that I have been. The priest's homily at 20 minutes was too lengthy, but the Mass was completed in 65 minutes despite large numbers of communicants.

There is a good view of this very wide river available from its eponymous lengthy road bridge situated on the main National Highway linking Borongan with Tacloban.
The river has many coconut palms growing on its banks and naturally flows into the Pacific Ocean, which at that point is normally quite placid.

This city is placed between sea and rain forest. Perfectly placed to see the island of Samar. Beaches, Islands, forest. Ask the locals about the caves and Waterfalls. You will not be disappointed.
