With its plentiful beaches, dramatic mountains, and backdrop of samba and bossa nova rhythms, it's easy to fall in love with Rio de Janeiro. Made famous in song, Ipanema Beach is still the place to stroll, sunbathe, and be seen. The largest Art Deco statue in the world, Christ the Redeemer, beckons visitors to Corcovado Mountain. Rio’s annual Carnaval celebrations are bacchanalian extravaganzas of feasting, music, dance, and costumed revelry.

Teleferico Do Alemao is a popular tourist attraction, that steadily has grown since it's initiation 2 years ago. It is merely a 6 station transportation system for at large low-income community (favela), but due to the fact of the cars being high in the air, it has grown to be a proper attraction. And what a view! It is amazing to dangle away over the labyrinths of the favela and the view from the last station is amazing - green views, the christ and Engenhao stadiums in the distance and the mass of small houses clinging up the hills. Worth a visite.
