Spitfire restoration business offering Spitfire Flight Experiences and Spitfire Tours. Based at RAF Biggin Hill we have one of the biggest collection of airworthy Spitfires in the world.
As soon as we arrived we were met by Richard of the ground crew. I was flying in the Spitfire, but my wife, Mother, Son & Grandson came to watch. Richard asked if my family would like to go up in what was referred to as ‘the van’ ( an 8 seater small plane). For the experience this was reasonably priced for the 4 of them. Then it was my turn, after the briefing I was kitted out and put into the Spitfire, what can I say other than amazing, incredible. My pilot Anna Walker briefed me on what we were about to do, then we were off. We flew up to meet my family in the smaller plane, my Grandson was over the moon as he could clearly see Grandad waving like a demented person in the elegant plane right next to him, we then left them and flew out over the channel, I cannot wax lyrical enough about the flight, the fantastic ground crew, the incredible Anna, another off the bucket list with huge recommendations to give it a go. Thank you so much ‘Fly a Spitfire Experience’

Biggin Hill Memorial Museum tells the story of RAF Biggin Hill through the personal experiences of those who served there, and the community who supported them. RAF Biggin Hill's high altitude and strategically important location between London and continental Europe, destined it to become the most important airfield of the Battle of Britain, laying the foundation for the European landscape as we know it today. One of Britain’s oldest aerodromes, RAF Biggin Hill is still internationally recognised as Sir Winston Churchill’s ‘strongest link’. The objects in the museum collection are directly associated to the people who served at RAF Biggin Hill. They include uniforms, medals, personal letters, documents and even furniture from the local pub. The collection also includes objects related to remembrance and memorial and the founding of the two chapels at the airfield from 1943-1951. Situated on the same site as St George Chapel of Remembrance a visit encompasses both museum and Chapel.
We enjoyed a couple of hours at Biggin Hill museum. Our 4 year old was given a nice friendly welcome and a generous activity bag to keep him entertained. Lots of effort gone in to making it entertaining and educational for both kids and adults with several interactive exhibits that had been made covid safe. High quality - Really brought the WWII base to life.
