We actually came here to see the sign proclaiming that this was North America's Most Westerly Highway Point. We walked on the beach and looked for eagles but didn't see any until we were back in the parking area and then an eagle flew into the tree near us. It was a great opportunity.

Our morning spent with Ron and his beautiful horses takes the cake for my favorite experience on our 6 week trip throughout the US, Canada, and Alaska. Our ride throughout the Alaskan wilderness was enrapturing; it was the type of beauty that feels entirely other worldly. I road Liberty who was a total gentle giant. I have riding experience and was nervous that the experience would be too elementary but also needed something that my husband- an entry level rider- could enjoy. I felt my unrealistic expectations were completely met with the real life version of joyful Ron Swanson as our tour guide. Ron is charismatic in all the best ways- a true outdoorsmen who's love of the land is intoxicatingly addictive. He told great stories, explained the natural and political history of the region, and kept us engaged the entire ride. He took extra time with us to answer any question we had under the sun and I left dragging my feet- longing to stay another few days. If you don't do anything else- do this. It was the most authentic, engaging, exhilarating experience I could have imaged.

Tall Tales can make the anglers dream come true. We take pride in putting the fun in fishing with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. If you are looking for a fun day on the water you have found the right place.
My husband and I recently traveled to Alaska, and the highlight of our time in Homer was going fishing with Tall Tales Charters. There are a lot of halibut charters in Homer, but this one was great. Chuck, the owner, and his grandson, John took us out to a great spot. They showed us exactly what to do and hooked my first couple for me, but when I figured it out later, they sat back and didnt interfere. We caught our limit and then some ( had to let several go) in just a couple hours. I would highly recommend this family charter company!

This is one of the most scenic drives in the state. If heading from Anchorage to Seward the mountains are on your left and the inlet is on your right. You may see eagles, belugas, and even sheep of the mountain climbing variety. Watch out for oncoming traffic as people tend to get impatient on the drive.

This small river on the Kenai Peninsula provides great fishing opportunities during the summer and autumn.
The Anchor Point Visitor Center told us about this viewpoint at the end of River Road in Anchor Point. Stunning views of the beach and across Cook Inlet. Saw a few eagles on the beach along with typical sea birds. Campgrounds and boat launch nearby. Nice detour.
