Worth the visit and/or detour, nicely decorated museum that throws you back in time for decades! Even a few shops like electronics and cameras are a nice memory.

This may well be the cutest, most breathtaking square in Germany (together with the market square in Trier). ALL the houses are beautiful and in great shape!

From the mainroad in Bernkastel-Kues you can find a 2 km dirt path up to the castle and back again. There are small signposts all the way, so it’s easy to follow the path. Take the Burgberg Rundweg counter clockwise. Then the steepest part of the dirt path will be up hill. Downhill it will be easier, don’t worry. Entrance to the lower part of the castle is free. If you want to climb the tower you’ll have to pay. The views from the castle over Bernkastel-Kues and surroundings are magnificent.
