Wow! We went at the very last minute, as we were driving back from a full day along the south coast, so we were already immensely exhausted. What I had read about the natural geothermal River was that it was in the valley and beautiful! This is an understatement. As you start out, right from the parking lot, you can dip right into the spring pools (super warm/hot) water which feels great on your feet! It was about 35F outside so we were bundled and I didn’t have the courage to dip much more than my feet! The hike was strenuous uphill most of the way there- and over the mountain passes! There is a beautiful waterfall put in the distance below. Recommend this to anyone who loves the outdoors and wants to experience a true natural geothermal river straight from the earth. Just be cautious because this is at least 2.5-3 miles just to get there!!!
