if you like nature , you will enjoy this walk . A pleasant easy stroll through the woodland with a designated walkway which takes you out on to the cliff top above south landing where you can sit and admire the sea views.

A lighthouse was first built on the Flamborough Headland in 1669 but was never lit. The current lighthouse was built in 1806 and acts as a waypoint for deep sea vessels and coastal traffic as well as marking the Flamborough Headland for vessels heading for the ports of Scarborough and Bridlington. Tours of Flamborough Lighthouse are organised by East Riding of Yorkshire Council under licence from the Corporation of Trinity House.
Visited in early August, we enjoyed great weather, lovely walks around the area, we spent time watching the seals playing, and following the kayaks around the headland, get there early as the car park gets very busy.

First full day of a long weekend away with the family and TA showed this as being just 1.5 miles away. Good reviews and decent weather were on our side so off we went. For a small site this has a lot going on. We arrived to see Redwing, Great Tit and Blue Tit leg ringing and the volunteers explained everything to the kids. A bird watching area with attentive and knowledgable helpers was another great way to spend the time and the gift shop is full of informative guides and quality souvenirs rather than the shelves of cheap plastic generic toys that get played with for 5 minutes before being discarded into an ever growing pile. A walk down the hill to the RNLI station was a good breath of fresh air too. Overall a great little find and very pleased we went.

Love this beach, purchase some good robust sea shoes and when the tides out you can explore the rock pools but please be aware of the tides they come in quick and you can be easily cut off. I have had to swim back to shore when cut off. Not for the faint hearted has there is a rather steep hill to get down to the beach but it is well worth it, please note the toilets are at the top so make sure you go before going down to the beach. There is also great cliff top walks to Flamborough Head lighthouse and you can go further and make it to Daynes Dike or even Bridlington and the other way to Thornwick Bay and beyond to Bempton. Brilliant for bird watching and hikers. PLEASE ENSURE YOU TAKE ALL YOUR RUBBISH BACK TO THE BINS AT THE TOP.

This is a beautiful location and well worth a visit ! There are caves, beaches and a lovely walk out to the lighthouse - take your camera! Good facilities, a cafe, toilets and plenty of parking at a reasonable price.
