Forbidden Fruit Winery

Missed the driveway so had to make a u-turn. It was definitely worth it. We tasted a number of fruit wines, including Double Gold winners, while hearing about the family history of this unique winery and the attributes which make up their wines. The hosts were welcoming and knowledgeable and made everyone's visit enjoyable. They were busy but never made us feel rushed. I am fussy about buying wines as I drink them only when I have time to enjoy a glass. I, therefore, do not buy them indiscriminately but choose them with care. I was happy to buy a number of bottles as I could not choose just one. Caught is truly "Nectar of the Gods" and it is easy to understand why Pomme Desiree has won double golds. I look forward to enjoying the complex combination of flavors in SauVidal and am glad to see that I can order online.

Staff was sò nice, our waitress which I don't remember her name was so sweet and knowledgeable. Our food was a decent price and amazing. I had a salad and the dressing was so good, my husband had a snitztel sandwich it also was great. We bought sourdough bread and our waitress recommended apricot jam. We had it for breakfast the next morning . Will be back for sure

Orofino Vineyards

We are a family based winery focusing on premium wines produced from grapes grown in the spectacular Similkameen Valley. Our unique solar powered winery was built using strawbale construction, which is energy efficient and well suited to our desert environment. Our wineshop is open for tastings from May until October. We have a beautiful long table next to our vineyard, surrounded by trees - the perfect setting for a picnic and glass of wine.

Our son recommended the winery for the Rose Magnum, so we "tried it". Wow - what a delight. Don't expect a Mission Hills setting or tasting room - this is a great little winery just starting up. We bought two Rose Magnums - one for our son, one for us. It was delicious in the tasting room, now to do comparisons with our favourites. We tasted several other delicious wines - the Syrah, with a hint of violets in the nose, the great Riesling, with a touch of Petrol - like the Rieslings from Alsace, the Red Blend because I love reds. If you are in the Keremeos area, or Oliver, you shouldn't miss this winery. Ideally you would make an on-line reservation, though a morning visit like ours might work without a resi.
