A + Tours & Events strives for excellence and over the years have perfected the overall presentation and productivity of our tours and services. Although A + Tours & Events will continue to offer all day tours, we are now offering shorter more condensed tours due to concerns that were voiced from both hotel staff and visitors. Visitors to Barbados wish to ,understandably, do as much as they can while on the island both due to time constraints and finances. Our company is based at Mango Bay Hotel and we have successfully done all their tours and events for the past six years. First of all, The staff at A Plus tours are some of the nicest persons that you will ever meet in Barbados. No matter what you are interested in seeing or doing while here on the island, we can cater to you as we are not just a Tour Company, but we are also an Online Concierge. We move "Bim" to please (Bim is what locals tend to call Barbados, or Bimshire). We offer Tour packages not only in English but in most Languages including; Spanish, French, Danish, Italian, Mandarin etc. Not to mention all of our Transportation needs are met by Prestige Tours, therefore we are never short on luxury coaches/vans. We have had two tours from A+ tour and events. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable and they never rush. We had a round the island tour and we over ran by over an hour but it wasnt a problem and they were really happy to accomodate and even dropped us off in Bridgetown at our request. We then went on a few days later to book for the mount gay tour and we even got a little more than expected by taking a detour to Rhianna drive to see Rhiannas childhood home. Ask for Kate White, best tour guide ever.

Locals informed us that the blue buses (the government run bus service) was in a ‘state of transition’ resulting in a very unreliable service. Seemingly, the new government inherited a heavily subsidised bus service and the IMF required the subsidy to be reduced, hence the recent (April 2019) increase in fare from $2 to $3.50. Also we were told that the mechanical state of many buses was poor and as the buses originate from Brazil there have been discussions between the two countries to ensure spare parts can be sourced. We also learnt that the reason the yellow ‘Reggae buses’ don’t issue tickets is due to the business model they operate under. The driver and conductor apparently pay the bus owner an agreed fee for the use of the bus and then split the balance of the takings. This perhaps also explains why they are keen to stop and let people on at every opportunity and why they cram so many people onto the bus!
