Had not been in some time, albeit I live across the causeway from Melbourne. What a delightful, South Beach - type location. I had the seared calamari appetizer - straight from Europe, with an Asian, light touch. I want to thank our waitress ALYSSA, big SHOUT OUT to you gal, you are a credit to your company. Menu is diverse and the premises is immaculate. if one enjoys European cafe - like, this restaurant is a definite must not miss. Keep it up, guys/gals!

Brought the family 03/16/19 after driving down from Savannah. We love Thai food and I'm always looking for great tom yum goong soup. The soup here was good... not great, but good with nice taste and spice. Everything we all ordered was good. Nice and hot. Several of us had pad Thai with different 'meats' and heat. There is a choice to have pad Thai made with rice noodles or rice. All of us opted for the rice noodle pad Thai.My son in law had sushi (hosomaki combo) which is also available at Thai Thai II. A pretty substantial selection of sushi dishes, rolls and soups etc. There is also beer, sake and some house wines available The menu is much more extensive that what we had. For some reason we all seemed to want almost the same thing, which I am thankful for since I was picking up the bill and the pad Thai isn't all that expensive.

This place has gone down hill. Used to be under different owners and name of hioki. Went there for lunch during a fairly busy lunch rush. They only had one server working and it was way to much for her to handle. Ordered our food and my friends salad comes out before my soup. I waited till they were half way done with salad before receiving my soup. Then lunch comes out and I got my food as well as another member of our party. We waited for her food for a good 10 minutes and then they only brought out half the lunch. It was another 10 min before the meal was complete and me and my other friend had already finished our food.Too top it off the server didn't even apologize or anything to us. She never came out to ask about how our food was. I got the chicken curry and it was terrible. I could cook better food at my house. It was literally undercooked mushrooms and onions with over cooked chicken in a sauce that was literally chicken broth mixed with soy sauce and a thickening agent. My friend that got her food on time ordered the sesame chicken meal which looked great! But the rice was mushyThe food we waited on for like 20 min was the ramen lunch which came with Raman and sushi. I wouldn't recommend. And I'll prob never return there. If you want good Japanese food then Melbourne isn't the place. Go to Orlando.

Siam Orchid- Melbourne- 4 StarsRising like the proverbial Phoenix from the ashes of adversity, Siam Orchid has bounced back from their minor troubles in 2011 to, at this point, lead the pack of reviewed restaurants in best sushi place in Brevard County. Up till this point the leader has been the joint Beachside, however; two recent trips have been unsteady and have allowed Siam Orchid, at least in the Big Boy's mind, to take the lead. Siam Orchid has been at this location for over 18 years. The fish is exceedingly fresh and the service is always commendable. Generally speaking, in these Thai-sushi hybrid places there is somewhat of a language barrier between staff and customers. Not so here. I have been here three times since March 7, 2018 and I have had consistently good service and a great meal every time. What would truly tickle me is to see an Oriental-Asian speaking Hispanic server/chef. That would really impress me!Anyway, at this point you must be wondering what I ordered. As a dedicated Big Boy follower, you should know my baseline Sushi order is (drumroll): JB Roll, Spicy Tuna Handroll and a random specialty roll, which, in this case, was the Siam Orchid Roll. The latter is an amazing tempura style roll filled with shrimp, fresh water eel, spicy mayo, and asparagus inside with some fried snapper on top. This is delish!! The Hand roll was prepared perfectly with no unwelcomed surprises. The JB was a winner as well. Siam Orchid does get slammed at lunch, so if you are planning on following the Big Boy to Siam Orchid for lunch-- there will be a wait, but it's worth it. Big Boy says. "Go, go, go!"
