F. McLintocks Saloon & Dining House offers the best authentic ranch style cooking and atmosphere teamed up with high spirited service and genuine western hospitality.
Went here while staying at the Kon Tiki Inn. Food was really good. Gift shop no longer there. They are converting it into a tasting room. Got the turkey nuts! My wife wasnât crazy about them. Had to try em though. Rib-eye on bone was very good. We took Uber so we wouldnât have to worry about parking or drinking. Weâll be back.

This is the hotel next door to the one we are staying at. Clearly a location popular with locals, on a Saturday night Pismo Beach was rammed. We had a wander round looking for food, and found this place suited our preferences. Arrived just after sunset, so missed one of their key highlights, the fantastic sunset.Food was pretty good in fairness, would recommend Nachos as a starter to share. Very good.Special of the day was prime rib, which we ordered along with Salmon, and wine by the glass. Overall good food, reasonable service, and decent value for money.

My oldest daughter, a local, has had good experiences here & suggested it. My wife & I arrived just before 5 midweek. We requested a table for 3, possibly 4. The nice young hostess stated she would go see where to put us. (Shouldnât she know this already?) That took way too long in a restaurant that had many, many vacant tables. When finally seated, it took way too long for a server to approach us. I caught the eye of one young lady who seemed to understand, but nothing happened. When our waitress finally appeared, there were 2. It was explained that one was a trainee. From that point on, service was outstanding. Iâm not a steak guy. Or a fish guy. That pretty well sums up the menu. I ordered crab cakes, which I occasionally order only as an appetizer. These were some of the better Iâve had on this coast. Tahoe Joeâs is apparently viewed as a steak house. The women had ribeye. My wife recently had one of the best ever (at twice the price) at a true steak house in Chico. She equated Tahoe Joeâs to more of a Sizzler entree.

Located at Madonna Inn, the Alex Madonna's Gold Rush Steak House is a landmark destination for its whimsical décor and classic menu. Featuring outstanding oak-pit barbequed steaks, a superb wine list, world-famous cakes and pies, and outstanding service.
Why is this place so busy? The food is miserable, prices are high, the decor is painfully ugly, and the service can be slow because the restaurant is chronically under-staffed. I suspect it's the lure of a traffic accident that you can't look away from. Yet visitors from afar get sucked into this vortex of horror by skillful marketing and word-of-mouth like "You have to see the weird bathrooms". I live in SLO and can tell you there are so many excellent restaurants here, why wouldn't you check those out?

After the 6 minute wait to be seated service slightly improved. The chowder was full of clams and flavorful. HOWEVER it was barely luke warm.I'd rate this as a surfer's bar not an evening to enjoy a meal. Prices were on the high side even for Pismo.
