We have eaten at David’s multiple times. Onion soup and steak were very good. Salted Carmel Cheesecake was fantastic. Mashed potatoes were so loaded with garlic that they were not edible. I wish the chef would lose his fascination with garlic in the potatoes. My preference with steak is baked potato or French fries. Although they are both extremely easy to cook, they do not have either as an option. Wish they would add at least one as an option to the inedible mashed potatoes.Hello,I believe I have read this same review in the past. Currently, we are preparing our mashed potatoes with butter, heavy cream and a pinch of salt. We no longer offer garlic mashed potatoes. Thank for your terrific review regarding your dining experience. I hope our new style of potatoes will give us 5 stars on your next dinner at David's. We appreciate your continued support. My wife and I travel to Fernandina Beach every year for our anniversary. We have been looking for a new place to have our anniversary dinner since our regular place closed. We have found it in Bob's Steak & Chop House! We went there on 9/9 and had a wonderful dinner! The atmosphere was romantic, the food was incredible and our server Megan was awesome! Megan attended to our every need and even brought us some champagne in honor of our special day. We will be back next year without a doubt.

First visit and will be back. Small, private and service oriented. Wife and I ordered Lobster and Crab Cakes, both were perfect. Owner suggested a wine pairing that fit meals very well, then explained history of that wine, nice touch. If you expect the best of ingredients and appreciate service, give Pozzi a try. Also, chocolate moose was homemade and to die for !

Kabuki Japanese Steakhouse

Unfortunately, I've been to this restaurant three times - not because I chose it, but due to people having birthday get-togethers here. Each time I've left shaking my head at the number of people that continue to come here.First off, the entry area is uninviting and cramped. If you're waiting for a large group, or if more than one group is waiting, you'll be herded together like cattle. Better hope it's not raining, because the exterior is the best place to hang around until it's time to be seated. Once inside, you'll notice that the place has a distinctive smell. I don't know if it's from not cleaning thoroughly or not, but it doesn't smell clean. The menu is large, so you'll find something that looks enjoyable, but once the "show" starts push back from the table. The entertainment by the "chef" is all about fire. I was shocked that fire suppression system didn't kick on. Literally everyone from out group pushed back from the size of the flames. I'm amazed no one has gotten burned at this restaurant. This is what you get when you don't train employees to the level of Benihana: just a flash (very big flash) in the pan.The quality of food is so-so. The salad was actually pretty good. The ginger dressing flavorful and appetizing. The soup was unimpressive. The shrimp appetizer (one shrimp) was underwhelming. The shrimp sauce was absolutely nasty - way too sweet. I had a filet and lobster. The lobster was over-cooked and burnt in several areas. The meat quality was lackluster. Both were WAY TOO SALTY! Seriously, I had to rehydrate when I got home. Others commented on the amount of salt, too. Out of our group of six, only two said they enjoyed their meal. Two others said it was ok, but wouldn't be rushing back. The other two (including me) said they'd only go back if someone picked it for an event, like a birthday.Cost at Kabuki is similar to Benihana, but its quality of food and of the entertainment is no where near a Benihana. The amount of fire on the pre-dinner show is dangerous. Food is too salty and cooked inconsistently. Flavor is lacking on almost everything. Shrimp sauce is nothing like Benihana, it's way too sweet. I cannot recommend Kabuki and I will only go back if someone else picks this place for a get-together.
