My wife found this museum online and wanted to visit, we went on a Tuesday as one of the days it opens, opening time 11:30am and 2 ish. The gentleman who runs it was very friendly and enthusiastic about all the wonderful things, a lot of old printing equipment and working machines that he happily will show you working, he was a printer himself before computers changed things, it’s not only printing related and well worth a visit, a gem of a place to visit. Entry is free but there is an antique piggy bank for donations ????

We visited this museum mainly because it features a real submarine! We live very near to a submarine base at home and while we see them come and go regularly we've never been able to experience anything of what it's like on board one of them, until now. The first surprise after we walked through the harbour to the entrance to the museum was the price. Only €2. And the next surprise was that the entry fee included access to not just one but two vessels. The first vessel we visited was the ex Customs cutter 'Albatros III' which was gifted to the town for its museum in 2006. Everything has been preserved as closely as possible in the condition it was in when it was last in service, even down to the crockery in the galley! Then we visited the star of the show, submarine S-61, 'Delfin', which became the first Spanish military vessel to become a museum, in 2004. As with 'Albatros III' everything has been kept so as to illustrate, as faithfully as possible, the way the boat operated when she was in service. The wonder of all this was being able to move through the boat itself, feeling the claustrophobia, squeezing past the attack periscope and between the engine exhausts. I think we were fortunate in that we visited in February when things were quiet. I'm sure the claustrophobia is even more authentic when the boat is thronged with visitors! Highly recommended. Watch out for closing times, especially around religious holidays and scheduled maintenance.

This small museum will not take too long to get around but does have exhibits unique to Torrevieja. Well worth a visit, free entrance!
