A pleasant enough, if unremarkable meal, marred by only two thing, one minor and one fairly major. I ordered the "Langostinos al pil pil" (not langoustines, but peeled prawns) which was pretty good, with a side-order of ciabatta bread (the "minor thing"), which had been overcharred, making the whole roll taste burned, in the same way that burning food in a saucepan can taint the whole dish. It wasn't very nice. For the main, I had the chicken shish kebab, which again was pretty good, but here's the thing. I'm allergic to mustard. I specifcally mentioned this to the waitress, as I always do. When the dish arrived, the salad on the plate had been dressed (no mention of a dressing on the menu, by the way). I asked the waitress if those were mustard seeds in the dressing. "Yes, it's a honey and mustard dressing." I sent it back. It returned sans dressing (no offer of an alternative plain dressing). This isn't just careless. YOU COULD KILL SOMEBODY. Not me, I'd probably have just been throwing up all night if I hadn't been vigilant. But the staff here need better training, and the management needs a better attitude towards allergen sufferers. Would it really kill them to spell out on the menu which allergens each dish contains? I think not. But it might save a life.

Viento De Levante is a warm, inviting Mediterranean restaurant and Tapas Bar, in Chichester on the South coast. Browse the menu and see our Tapas and Mediterranean main courses. The restaurant is fully licensed. Enjoy your meal in a welcoming atmosphere,
Itâs not the easiest restaurant to find as its in a basement inside a courtyard but very well worth the effort.Great setting with barrelled roof and vernacular decor. Service was prompt, well informed and amusing.A huge choice of tapas such that there really was something for everyone. Potatas Bravas were excellent. Lots of interesting things to mix and match. Very easy to eat too much and drink too much - a really pleasant evening with friends. Easy to leave car overnight and get a taxi. Will definitely visit again.

Looked forward to eating here as good reviews, On the plus side the calamari was excellent, I am not a fan of deep fried squid but these were so good. Equally good was the Morcilla and the pigs cheek. The Merluza was bland and on reflection was a trifle over cooked. The big let down though and the reason for no 4 stars was the olives. They were pitted had no flavour and looked like cheap supermarket jar olives. Given the website comments of sourcing produce from Spain we were very disappointed and to be quite honest have had far better offerings in local chain restaurants. Lets hope for better next time!

Outside it looks like a tiny front room.....but this place is outstanding. Totally fabulous and HUGE portions, the owner comes to check everything is ok, is happy to recommend substitutions and all the staff are helpful and friendly. The menu is so big it is hard to choose....obviously meaning we simply HAVE to go back soon!
