Reviews on Spanish food in Carson City, Nevada, United States. A city of natural beauty, charm, history and western hospitality, this state capital derived its name from Kit Carson, the legendary trapper, scout and explorer. A trip to the city is a living history lesson. One need only jump on the Kit Carson Trail downtown, which passes old mansions, courthouses, a depot and a brewery, to experience a taste of life in the Old West. Also downtown, the State Capitol, built in 1870, offers a look at the birth of Nevada as a state and Carson City as its capital. Other historic landmarks, cultural heritage centers and museums dot the landscape around town, but don't forget your clubs. The city is well-known for the Divine Nine, a group of top-rated area courses designed by pros such as Arnold Palmer, Johnny Miller and John Harbottle and set amid the magnificent Sierra Mountains. After a little golf, gambling or sightseeing, spend some down time at the Carson City Hot Springs. You will emerge feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for more exciting endeavors.

Super staff, enormous portions of good Mexican food. Only drawback is that it is located in a casino. I suggest requesting seating further in the restaurant. We sat close to the entrance and the heavy smell of cigarettes was unpleasant. We plan on returning, we come through Carson from time to time so itâs a good meal with quick, easy access off the freeway.5 Stars - Thank you.

IMPORTANT information when planning visit: Grill Hours: 6am-3pm Chorizo/Gift Shop Hours: 6am-5pm. We are the proud home of Pete's Famous Basque Chorizo which originated in Battle Mountain, NV in 1984!
This place is amazing for breakfast! The homemade basque style chorizo is unbeatable. I recommend the basque burrito with gravy on top, the breakfast quesadilla with gravy and the pork fried steak and eggs. This is the best chorizo and gravy you will ever eat in your life.

Very small, very casual hole in the wall restaurant. Looked like a husband/wife team - and both were super friendly. We decided to eat at one of the two small tables. While we were eating, several groups of people picked up to go orders. We ordered a beef burrito, about $7.00, for lunch for my husband. Enough left over for dinner. I ordered 2 tacos and 2 tamales, $4.00 total and could not finish. Interesting to note...they won't let you pay until you are done with your meal. Food was awesome!Highly recommend!

Our first visit and we took advantage of the Basque dinner entree menu.Several courses served family style with traditional flavors. Come hungry and you won't be disappointed. Excellent service. seating is family style also so you may end up sharing a table with other patrons.

This restaurant has survived for years in a shopping center location while others have come and gone. Owned by a couple from S. Lake Tahoe who commute daily to run the restaurant, this restaurant is off Highway 395 in the Trader Joe's area. This is typical but very good Mexican food prepared lovingly by a Mexican owner chef and his wife who runs the restaurant. A real family affair and it is great food. Open floor plan is impersonal but so are most Mexican places .. Sparse but functional. They serve beer, wine and margaritas with a large selection of food all traditional dishes but very tasty... Good reasonable prices too! Worth the trip.
