A very well located restaurant with good food but nothing special. However defn not a service with a smile. We were given a menu immediately and in less than 5 min waiter came twice to take our order to cut the story short in less than 45 min we had the meal, paid and left. Defn we did not enjoy the evening - by the way no wifi.

Renting an apartment in this village and this restaurant looked appealing to try. It has a great variety of items, but my boyfriend and I opted for two pastas dishes. We were promptly served by Vincenzo who spoke English and was very efficient and gracious. The meals were delicious and loved the location and ambiance of this restaurant. Grazie Mille. My wife and I ate dinner at the Trattoria Federico having noticed that it was busy â always a good sign. It is necessary to book most evenings. The restaurant is located near the harbour in Aci Castello north of Catania and has a sister restaurant across the street (Le Muse), where we had eaten earlier in the week. Basically, the menu and prices were very similar. We ordered mixed fried seafood to start (which we shared) and was quite good. This was followed by the grilled fish of the day, which was apparently a grouper and very tasty. Salad and sides were extra. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, a decent restaurant, albeit a tad pricey (except for the house wine, which was excellent and cheap).

Locale tipico sul lungomare con specialità di pesce sempre freschissimo e comprato direttamente dai pescatori locali. Pasta fresca, dolci artigianali e vino selezionato. Possibilità di opzioni vegetariane, vegane e senza glutine su prenotazione.
I was looking for a nice place to have my last lunch in Catania by the water and even if there were a row of restaurants, Malavoglia had an attractive vibe. It was still busy at roughly 230 in the afternoon and they do encourage you to go in. I got a corner table at the back [since I was solo and the more attractive tables were for groups I guess. They had a lot of waiters but service was a bit slow and the menu is pricey [though it seemed this entire area was]. It took awhile to get my order and the younger waiters weren't paying me much attention. It was an older, more senior waiter that signaled them to attend to me. Food was quite good once it came, though portioning for the price was smaller. Ambiance was very nice but I probably won't go back but good to experience at least once
