Middlebury survived being almost entirely destroyed during the Revolutionary War to become the home of Vermont's original marble quarries, as well as a popular vacation destination, filled with charming country inns. Middlebury offers visitors the opportunity to shop for crafts, folk art and locally grown produce amidst beautiful woods and farmland. The nearby village of Ripton features the Robert Frost Wayside Trail, leading poetry fans through the woods that inspired his most famous poems.

What a pretty college campus! It's pretty much the whole town of Middlebury and sits right in the middle with residential streets radiating off it. It was nice to walk around the campus and see the old buildings, beautifully manicured lawns, and student life. Go to the Mahaney Museum of Arts in the Arts building- great little gem.

There are a lot of best kept secrets in Vermont and UVM Morgan Horse farm is top of the list. Amazing at any time of year (but only open to public during warmer months). Historic. Interesting. Beautiful. Relaxing. Amazing horses. Stunning scenery. Lovely buildings/ crafstmanship. The guides know their stuff. Fun fun fun for anyone 5-95. Glad I visited again. Look forward to coming back next year.
