Pennsylvania Dutch country is a fascinating destination to explore. Visitors will get a glimpse of farm life as it was in the early 1800s. Visit markets and farm stores for homemade shoofly pie and fresh produce, or shop for a handmade quilt. President James Buchanan's elegant home, Wheatland, is no less historic but contrasts sharply to the simpler Pennsylvania Dutch heritage sites in Lancaster. Consider a side trip to nearby Hershey, home of Hershey Park and the Hershey chocolate factory.

BUiLDiNG CHARACTER is a fantastic collection of 70+ shops ~ at home in 10,000-square-feet of historic warehouses ~ in the heart of Downtown Lancaster's premiere shopping areas, the 300 Block of North Queen Street. It's a place where shoppers can spend hours perusing recycled brand name clothing and accessories, handmade jewelry and metalcraft, antiques and collectibles, and handmade greeting cards and ornaments by local craftspeople, most of whom employ green practices and recycling methods to create their inventory.
Had such an awesome time walking through the large warehouse. Each booth has artwork from so many talented local artists. Also some great vintage finds. Definitely one of the gems of downtown Lancaster.

While Visiting Lancaster this weekend we wanted to check out Tanger Outlets. What a perfect day for shopping. Temps were super mild hovering around 60 and partly sunny which is amazing for Pennsylvania this time of year. Lots of free parking and conveniently located to Rts 283 and 30 make this location a great shopping spot. Definitely will make this a routine when visiting Lancaster Co.
