The Cotswolds (/ˈkɒtswoʊldz/ KOTS-wohldz, /-wəldz/ -wəldz) is an area in south central England containing the Cotswold Hills, a range of rolling hills which rise from the meadows of the upper Thames to an escarpment, known as the Cotswold Edge, above the Severn Valley and Evesham Vale. The area is defined by the bedrock of Jurassic limestone that creates a type of grassland habitat rare in the UK and that is quarried for the golden coloured Cotswold stone. It contains unique features derived from the use of this mineral; the predominantly rural landscape contains stone-built villages, historical towns and stately homes and gardens. The population of the District is about 84,000.

Just to say a big thank you to the team at Lady’s Wood Shooting School. We visited last Wednesday with my granddaughter and really enjoyed the whole experience. The layouts are very good and the high tower has got to be the best. Great tuition from Ernie and he took the time to help my 15 year old granddaughter get to grips with shooting. I would recommend Lady’s Wood to all levels. Thank you.

Recently I brought a group of work colleagues here for a clay shooting experience. My party of 9 was split between two instructors so that everyone got to receive personal instruction, safety briefing and did't have to stand around waiting for their turn for too long. This was a novice group who had no experience of clay shooting, but by the time they finished everyone felt like a champion and was hitting clays. The feedback from my group was excellent. They all thoroughly enjoyed the morning and had a great time. They felt the instruction was excellent and they felt well looked after throughout the morning. All kit was included and lighter guns / cartridge loads were available for those of a smaller frame, so nobody left feeling battered or bruised. In summary everyone enjoyed the experience and would do it again at this venue. I should point out that this activity was done on one of the worst days of the late summer with heavy rain and wind - but they still enjoyed it!! This speaks for itself!

We visited Coleys yesterday, to look for a gun for Jan. The team could not have been more helpful. There was no pressure, no up selling, just solid and sound advice on gun fit & gun mount. Jan tried over half a dozen guns - ending with a Beretta 686 grade 5 game gun 12 bore with 28 inch barrels, about a pound lighter than her B725. They gave a very fair price on the trade in of the Browning. Jan then tested the Beretta - about 40 clays which were included gratis as part of the purchase of the gun. Once Jan had made her decision, we went round the sporting stands - 100 Clay's each, Jan shot with her new gun. The entire experiance was unhurried and without any pressure to buy. The team are fantastic, the grounds are very well laid out and in immaculate condition. We will be returning to shoot here again and also to buy guns in the future.
