Itâs great to see new places open in Helen, Georgia and was excited to try Blauer Wolf Brewery featuring Alaskan seafood. It did not disappoint.I lived in Alaska for 20 years so it was great trying out the menu. Alaskan Halibut and Cod was great, cooked perfectly and the clam chowder was excellent.Alpine Helen exterior and rustic Alaskan inside. Staff was great, attentive and friendly! Now if the bar can get Alaskan Amber Iâll feel like Iâm back in Alaska.Upstairs deck will make a great addition to our town. Brewery is still being set up so Iâm excited to try their craft beers soon!Prices were normal for Helen and everyone should give this a try! Great addition to Helen!

Our innkeeper at Lucille's recommended we try Bernie's. The praise was spot on. The food was delicious. Both my wife and I enjoyed the steal a poive, which was cooked to order perfectly. They have a great bar and a bartender who develops her own specialty drinks. She also prepares traditional cocktails expertly and serves them with flair. Service was excellent and the setting was homey and comfortable. Bernie's is only a few minutes from Lucille's which means you don't have to fight the crowds in town. Be sure to make reservations as they fill up fast!

The Valhalla Resort restaurants, the Caledonia Room and Sky bar were a big disappointment. For lunch in the Sky bar, we ordered the Valhalla Burger, which turned out to be a tiny hamburger for $11 and the Chicken Avocado Salad, which was dry and tasteless. We made reservations for dinner in the Caledonia room, but they decided not to open it, so we had to eat again in the Sky bar (same kitchen). I had the Braised short rib, which I sent back. It had one rib and it was 90% fat and hardly any meat. They still charged me 50% of the $27!!! for this horrible dish. My wife had a completely tasteless Cornish hen. Worst restaurant experience of our hole trip. Never again!!!
