Things to do in Pulau Perhentian Kecil

This is by far the best option (though more expensive) for a good meal in Perhentian. Nice setting and friendly staff. Dishes were brought almost instantly (but it was during low season with not so many people). Smoked salmon salad and BBQ fish were excellent. The chocolate souffle was not the best but still ok.

Expensive restaurant part of BuBu resort but nice place to sit and chill on quieter part of long beach. Nice views and better place to swim without worrying about incoming boats. Staff friendly and very attentive. Recommended for relaxing for a few hours out front with a beer.

We had waked here from Long Beach and wanted something to drink.Difficult to work out who worked here but eventually got served. The guy realised that the table was filthy so proceeded to wipe it with his hand! The menus looked like they had been stored in the bath.Paying the bill took as long as getting served.Would not waste any time here.
Most Popular Asian food in Pulau Perhentian Kecil, Terengganu, Malaysia
I stayed in Perhentian for 4 days and didn't have to go anywhere else for food as this place has everything that a travellers need. It has a nice selection of western and asian food. The pasta are pretty good. Asian dishes were pretty good too with the familiar tom yam, curry and pongteh served with rice on the side. The service there was impeccable where the staff were very attentive to customers with food allergies and always open to suggest a substitute ingredient. For dinner, try the grilled seafood platter and if you're not into seafood, they can offer you the meat and chicken option so no one gets left out. What I like about this place is it has a decent selection of wine, a bit heavy on the white but I suppose it's perfect for the hot island weather. My partner is a vegetarian and he was delighted to see the numerous options for him on the menu. The tofu scramble and soba noodle are some of the must trys. As for drinks, other than a nice selection at the bar, the fruit lassis and smoothies were yummy. The home made ice creams were pretty good too.Having visited Perhentian on countless occasions, I would say Bayu's breakfast is the best on the island. Other than generous portions, the selection is vast with a choice of western or asian option for the customers. The pancake was good. Aside from the ala carte breakfast that is complimentary, there was plenty of things to pick from the buffet line as well. White and wholemeal bread, cereals, fresh fruits and hot beverages. The nasi lemak however could be better. I was fortunate enough to be able to be there when they had Pizza Night. The head chef,Willy made some amazing pizzas but I was told that it wasn't a daily thing, although I think it should be on the menu. I took a glimpse at the kid's section and there are some great choices for the young customers too. Pasta, nuggets, a few options of sandwiches. They also provide free coloring puzzle sheets for the kids while they wait for their food so that's a plus point. Although it is located at the quiet side of the island, getting to the restaurant with plenty of water taxis available on the island. I'd give extra points to this restaurant because when they say eco friendly, they mean it. Only metal straws are provided, and no styrofoam containers nor cups are used there. Overall experience,I'd eat there again.
