Had enjoyed a few visits to this restaurant under its Campbell's years, now trading as Connors have to say this visit the food quality nowhere near as good, starters of tasteless soup and overdone, yes overdone and poor quality mussels followed by overcooked seafood medley and stroganoff in which the meat was so tough we had to ask for a sharper knife to cut it, response was I'll let the chef know ( last we heard on that topic)Slow service and simple touches like having to ask for water to be put on the table, no side dish being brought for mussel shells until requested, mussels served with a lobster fork, absolutely useless for that purpose, having to go and collect own coats and obviously untrained waitresses with no serving finesse left the impression it has a bit to go in food preparation, quality and service standards. Not quite the enjoyable experience of previous visits

The Crown offers an extensive bar menu from noon till 9:30 PM everyday. We also offer A La Carte from 6PM till 9:30 PM. We have ben a previous winner of the AA's "SEAFOOD PUB OF SCOTLAND" With Lobster,Crab,Scallops and Mussels along with Seabass,Cod,Salmo
Hadn't eaten here in a while and came back hoping it would be as good as I remembered and sure enough it didn't let md down. The Crown restaurant is not about fancy little pointless details, it's about great local produce superbly cooked. I had beautiful scallop mousse with prawns and toast followed by pheasant (cooked to perfection) on a bed of haggis with lots of neeps "n" tatties. All wonderful

Lovely small restaurant opposite the lighthouse with beautiful views, especially sunsets.Good choice of menu, however was not particularly impressed with the house wines - probably better taking a branded bottle instead.Lovely home made bread though.,,,Service overall prompt and friendly.Probably best to book, particularly at weekends.Would certainly give it another visit and recommend,

Nestled in the West Coast town of Stranraer overlooking the picturesque Loch Ryan where you can watch the ferries going to and from Northern Ireland and Cairnryan Port. Henrys Bay House Restaurant boasts the finest sun terrace for alfresco dining and view
Flexible timing warm welcome great views.... multi generational family visit ... variety of dishes .. good . Particularly light bites mussels ....Distractions were too much potato and good chips with virtually all dishes ; and blatantly too hot soup . Which caused light distress to two of our party , as they had to delay starting their first course!Portions sizes very acceptable.. not too large ..Pleasant wine by the glass . No alcoholic beer and lagers...Shared desserts were pleasing with coffees etc A very pleasant experience with the exception of soup and excess potato. Will return focusing in on light bites
