Had the best dinner in our Okinawa visit here in Aguncha Restaurant. This restaurant comes highly recommended by other reviewers and we werenât disappointed. Rather than ordering a la cat, we took advantage of their 2,000yen 7-course set dinner. Every dish was delicious and wonderfully presented. The set dinner enabled us to tried several Okinawa special cuisines - Agu Pork, sea grapes, Okinawa bitter melon, parrot fish sashimi, grilled fish etc. Quantity was more than sufficient but you wonât be overstuffed. Every dish was excellently prepared, presented and served in a steady but leisurely pace. We didnât feel rushed. The best thing was that there was an English Menu, most serving staff can speak excellent English and genuinely happy to serve us. The experience made the whole meal feel special. At the end, the restaurant even gave each of us a pair of chopsticks as souvenir. Aguncha is a small restaurant. Reservation is a must. It is very close to the Tomari pier. The set dinner required at least 3 persons in order to order.

We had dinner twice in this charming and genuine okinawan restaurant. The owners were so nice with us and the dishes were all just delicious. We had awesome advocado tempuras, sashimi fresh and tasty and a unique Soba soup. Prices are reasonable according to the quality and the good moments we spent. We recommend highly this small restaurant for the warm welcome and for the dishes.

Came here on my first night and was so pleased. Seated with friends at a traditional Japanese table, shoes off but with recessed floor. Plenty of ice cold beer, a huge menu selection that included local seafood favorites, including the delicate "seaweed grapes" shown in the main photo--pictures on the walls and menus were a big help. We four people had lots of good food and alcohol, served efficiently and paid less than $15 each, a very good deal.(please note, I accidentally gave this review to the nearby Chinese restaurant, but this was the actual place I ate)

The restaurant strongly reminds me about "mama's fish house" on Maui. Same does the menu. Certainly the quality doesn't reach "mama's"but prizes are also one third. The service was very nice and the food delicious. Especially when you like surf and turf, the place to go. Excellent price performance ratio.

We showed up at 8pm and the place was packed. We came back one hour after and finally a spot at the bar was available. Place was filled with either locals, business men and Japanese tourists, 20 people max.No English but the waitress spoke enough to guide us through. Sushi and sashimi were delicious and we ended up sharing glasses of sake with the regulars.Really authentic and cozy place. Highly recommended, especially if you speak Japanese, book before coming to be sure to get in.
