We stumbled into this place after exploring the sights in Hakone and it was an amazing small-town experience thatâs definitely worth a drop-by lunch. The English menu was a huge help and the prices were extremely reasonable for the quality of seafood and care that the chef puts into creating your meal. Itâs a small place and fills up quickly, so get there a few minutes before the store opens to guarantee and wait-free meal. Support local family-owned sushi restaurants when traveling Japan!

I have heard it said that I should try the soba while in Hakone. You say soba, I say fish! If soba is what you want, there are plenty of choices but let me point you to a place that has awesome grilled fish; Kinosuke!If you are not totally convinced by this review, drop by the restaurant location and watch the fish being grilled in the window. That mouth watering experience should be enough to draw you in.

Went here after a friend recommend it.Right next to Miyanoshita station.The food was delicious! Get the wedges which are cooked in garlic butter and sardines.... amazing! Or the beef in a red wine and sake jus!The cook is an avid wine fan and as such this place has an surprising good wine list!I'll be back next time I visit Hakone!

The sushi here was great, my girlfriend and I both chose the omakase of 10 pieces, along with the recommended sake. Every bite was phenomenal. We ended up ordering an additional six piece tuna assortment of sushi because we were so happy about our experience. It was very touching, during our meal my girlfriend and I were each offered a glass of wine to share from a local family that was dining in the restaurant at the same time as us.The meal came with a delicious miso soup and a green tea, all for a very reasonable price both for Japanese and international standards. At the end we were asked if we needed a taxi ride home making the whole dinner a smooth experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Hakone!

Do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant in Hakone sengokuhara area. I stayed at Hakone sengokuhara prince hotel but was really unimpressed by the food at the hotel. I went for a walk and stumbled upon this small restaurant filled with locals. It is near the botanical garden and it is a nice cosy little restaurant. Despite of its location and size , the meal is AMAZING !!the best meal I had during my ten days trip in Japan ( Tokyo Kyoto Hiroshima and Hakone ) . Most of the reviews of this restaurant are in Japanese and the menu is In Japanese but they have photos on menu so choosing food was easy. The owner or the all rounder wait staff ( a Japanese gentleman that speaks great English and explained the menu for us so thoroughly and he is so friendly polite and attentive. We have had great experience about how friendly Japanese people are and this shows . The food well was damn fantastic . Sashimi was fresh, the fish was delicious , you must order a whole set as the variety you get is great . The BBQ squid was oh so tender and yummy and everything was perfect , it is cheaper compared to other restaurants I had in Japan but the quality of food and service you get is wonderful .
