During a recent stay in Asheville, we ate dinner at Corner Kitchen based on positive TA reviews and ranking within the top 5 restaurants in Asheville! We were not disappointed and the ranking is well deserved. Corner Kitchen is located in Biltmore Village area and has a sister restaurant, Chestnut, which we ate at also during our Asheville stay. The Corner Kitchen is very open and informalâdressing up is certainly not necessary. We had a reservation and were promptly seated in the dining area near the bar. Our server was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly; and provided outstanding service throughout. My wife had the scallops with risotto and I had the fresh catch of the day which was swordfish. But dishes were perfectly prepared and nicely complimented by the sidesâwhich were unique and delicious. We finished with the seasonal cheesecake which was also delicious! Great meal and the best dinner we had of three in Asheville (the others, including Chestnut, were also excellent). Value was very good for the quality of the meal. I highly recommendâreservations are a must.

We stopped for lunch and the restaurant was pretty empty. That should have been the first indication to leave. The food wasnât that great, our server was friendly at least. Pretty expensive lunch for the collective reaction to be âMeh...â We will not bother going back.

Second visit for lunch. First visit, took forever to get water refill after noticing wait staff just standing around. This visit did not find the wait staff that friendly. Brought wrong menu. Female took it and never brought correct one. Prices are fairly high for lunch. Ordered the cheeseburger medium. If thatâs medium, medium rare will walk in on 4 legs attached to a leash. This really is a French restaurant â lovely beurre blanc with everything, small portions of highly quality foods. Seafood and fish highly recommended. (Seafood Hal!). Save room for the homemade desserts â all in house and divine. For us, this is a special event restaurant.

Chestnut is an American restaurant. We are in a 1920s era building in downtown Asheville, right across for the Aloft hotel and the double decker coffee bus. Parking is plentiful (and cheap) at the public deck under the Aloft Hotel.

Ate here and had a wonderful experience. Made a reservation and our table was ready when we arrived. Hostess promptly sat us. The waitress was terrific with a good pace throughout the dinner. Food was unique and wonderful. I would recommend to anyone in the area. The meals are about 25 so not inexpensive but a nice night out.
