Mauricio's Grill & Cantina, is a Mexican restaurant with family atmosphere catering to families in the Bakersfield area since 1996.
I went there alone for a lunch and was so disappointed in the amount of food, the wait time and the staff rudeness. The food was sparse, not like your usual Mexican restaurants. But the quantity was not the real problem; it felt unfriendly and like I was in the way. I left so unsatisfied and won't go back. La Mina's and others are so much better.

Ok they do a great take on micheladas. The food while very good, does not have enough kick for me personally. But is probably perfect for your casual diner that likes it mild. Atmosphere is great, love the muerto theme going on. Lots of color. Food is fresh and tasty.

Dining alone can be tough sometimes. Tonight I went to Red Lobster for a little change. It was Happy Hour so wine was $5/glass and it was also All you can eat Shrimp night, so I got both. I thought the shrimp looked funny at first but it was fine. The wine was Suiter Home Merlot and had a really good flavor. I ended up sitting in the bar and had excellent service!
