Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Antananarivo. Built on a narrow, rocky ridge, Antananarivo occupies a strategic point at the center of the island of Madagascar. Two forts watch over the city from the east and southwest, while within the city limits lay royal palaces, embassies, some fifty churches and a mosque. The city's most distinguishing feature may be the burnt out remains of the Rova, or Queen's Palace, situated on a prominent hill. Its steep alleys and stairways make Antananarivo a challenging but rewarding city to explore on foot.

Everybody seems to have heard about this restaurant. It is popular with both the expats and the malagasy. Don't be fooled by the appearance, it looks as a very plain place, but it is the best restaurant that specializes on sea food. It is all about "fruits de la mer". The portions are huge, for example, the maxi grill feeds three (about 40 thousand ariary, or $18). Going there in a larger group makes sense - you will be able to try more things. In fact there are two La Marees in town, I like the Ivandry one (near La City) better, the other one is in a very gloomy area.

Well it's really weird.I had my best dish till now in Madagascar as well as the worst. The best was a shrimp curry which was incredible. We also wanted some veggies so we ordered a veggie gratin which was a mistake. So i guess if u come here stick to the local cuisine and don't order something European influenced.Would come back here.

La Rotonde is an institution - the food is classical home cooking, the presentation simple and straightforward, the waiters know their job and I keep on returning to this friendly, down to earth eating place. An added attraction is that parking is not problem and you do not have to battle with the city's apalling traffic jams to get there.

Could be the best seafood restaurant in 'Tana that you can take the whole family to. Cozy, friendly and affordable. Both malagasy and continental dining options.
This relaxed restaurant off one of the major thoroughfares of Tana serves up some of the freshest seafood meals. Maps will show it as LÃ lana Andriantsihoarana Ratsimbazafy, which becomes LÃ lana Rakotomanga Philipe. Posting a modest restaurant like this to TripAdvisor can often be challenging, because many do not have a street address, or phone number, or website required - so this one breaks through that barrier by having a reliable presence online through FB. The menu has been slimmed down since they first opened, but the quality remains high. A buffet is offered during lunch.
