I've passed JC's many times over the years they've been opened, but never stopped by, since I assumed a small shack wouldn't be the best of places to grab seafood. I was highly incorrect.I visit frequently for the Low Country Boil alone. An individual serving is more than enough, and very flavorful. My work shift always comments on the flavor. You can order a larger base for more people, and there is the option to add whatever seafood is available. Another shift tried it, and now it is there go-to lunch for every Saturday shift. Regardless of how many are eating, we always feel full and satisfied! There of course is plenty of fresh seafood to pick from as well; but i just cant get enough of the LCB! The staff has always been very friendly and polite as well!

This is a Pittsburgh bar with some very cool sports memorabilia. It certainly does look like a dump from the outside, but the food is absolutely amazing. The grilled lemon pepper shrimp was the best I ever had. Ever. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The prices are great for the quality of food served. It is definitely worth stopping.

Great food! Visited for lunch. Good selection to choose from. Got fish bites for starters. Excellent. Big portion also. Got the seafood platter. Again, big portion and excellent quality. Enjoyed the sweet potato fries with marshmallow fluff dipping sauce. Can get busy. Best to wait till just after noon rush or dinner rush.

Our group of 13 dined at the Variety after calling ahead to make a reservation. When we arrived our table had been set up in a side room and servers were waiting for us. We ordered a number of different selections and everyone of us enjoyed our food and went away pleasantly full. Not only was the food excellent but service could not have been better. We were there at their busiest dinner hour but never had to wait for service. The Variety is probably the only restaurant in our area that specializes in fresh, wild caught seafood (and they know how to prepare it) but offers everything else from steaks to spaghetti. They also have a varied selection on the Kid's Menu. It is a family friendly restaurant that is not fancy but offer the best service and food!

The service was perfunctory and somewhat rushed. Did not ask to refill beverages. Provided bill without asking for interest in desert -- which we wanted. Server was obviously busy with other tables in different locations spread out throughout the restaurant. Server was not amiable I noticed several other servers being more friendly with guests. I ordered the Lobster Lover's Dream. One of the lobster tails was particularly overcooked and tough. Both were somewhat tough. The shrimp in the pasta were small and not high quality. My wife had the Lobster Surf and Turf. She indicated her lobster was also a little tough. The cake for desert was not very good.
