On our way home from the Danube we wanted to stop for something to eat now near Herculane I run a search for the a place to eat, this is what turned up. So here is the review for what we found:- location - in Baile Herculane you will find this place- it has also rooms if you need a place for the night you can also check it out. The restaurant as you enter you get to the first floor and there it is - good seating capacity with an open terrace so you can have a smoke also if you feel like. - menu and food - menu is quite extensive but I did not want anything fancy so I got the grilled trout with the fries. Very nicely done, fish was still moist and not overspiced so you could actually taste - fries were, well just fries. Still on the menu you will find some Romanian specials also, but this time we were not interesting. Also in terms of drinks they are well stocked - so if you care for a beer or wine, or even stronger spirits you can find those. - service - very nice and prompt - also the waiter was very helpful in terms of answering politely all the questions we were asking. - prices - pocket friendly, I've chosen cheap but be sure the quality of what I got was very good, nothing to complain. Overall is you are in the area and feel like eating - this is a place I recommend you try it.
At first glance the place isn't much, yet the food is delicious and rather accesible pricewise. You gotta try the Plescavita with fries. The restaurant is partially suspended on the river which gaves a great view on the river and cliffs.I'm not sure if the restaurant is open during winter though.
First time we ordered pizza Margherita and we were served two medium sized pieces of baked dough with barely some grated cheese on top.We paid 52 lei for the worst pizza ever,we couldn't eat it!We gave it a second chance and we went for lunch. Big dissapointment!Service was ok,the food was as bad and pricey as the pizza was...We wouldn't recommend it to anyone!Sadly there are just a few good restaurants in Herculane and this is definetely not one of them.
This is for sure the worst place from Baile Herculane. If there are more than 3 tables occupid you can wait up to 45 minutes for someone to take your order. After that another 30 to 45 minutes to recieve something to drink. Please avoid to take food at this location.
