After a strenuous climb to the civita in Bagnoregio, we were happy to get some great advice and arrive at this ristorante. The risotto was excellent and the house wine more than adequate. The service was friendly and efficieint. The presence of locals assured us of the quality of the food.

No pizza available at lunch time, which was big disappointment. They had some daily specials but those were not offered to foreign tourists proactively, just like house wines were obviously also only for Italians and tourists were offered bottled more expensive ones. Pastas were good as expected, but next time will prob go elsewhere.

8 friends dined here at the recommendation of the owner of the Villa we were renting ( the amazing Villa Selvamica ). So glad we did, as it was such a fabulous experience. As previous reviewers have said it is family run and there is so much love shared with the food they bring out to you. I agree with someone who said it was too much - we also could not get through it all and took home lots of remainders which were just as sensational the following night. I am not complaining though as every dish was sensational. I truelly fantastic authentic experience. Thanks a lot for coming guys! See you soon!

The Francigena - Osteria typical pizzeria. Restaurant in Bolsena to taste typical of Tuscia, with their true flavors in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Our passion for the art of cooking with the simplicity that was once the custom is our best thanks
Getting in here requires planning and a reservation. Getting in the same night is difficult unless you know someone in town that can pull for you. It is easily the busiest place in Bolsena. The food was very great and the setting is wonderful. The menu is extensive so that it is easy to find something regardless of your Italian food interests. The crowd when we were there was made up primarily of Italian and German tourists. I had a great cream and sausage pasta primi that was unique and delicious among dishes I ate over two weeks in the area.

Upon arriving in Orvieto I was told by an American quartet that the place in town to get the best Spaghetti Carbonara was down the street. Now this is information that I did not request; so I reasoned that they must have just enjoyed a surreal dish. But having arrived late, my buddy largely responsible for the missed train, this restaurant as well as all the other restaurants in town were closed, I had to settle for a cabdy bar and can of coke...cookies for dessert. Now...After reading reviews it became clear what restaurant theyâre were talking about and I made a reservation. It was quaint with red checkered table cloths reminiscent of the 1950âs American version of an Italian restaurant. Our 2 waiters were very attentive to your every need. My buddy and I ordered the carbonara without an appetizer because of the sheer size of the plate. The pancetta was beautifully sautéed on top and was plentiful throughout the dish. The pasta was mixed beautifully with the egg mixture and made for a very satisfying Spaghetti Carbonara. The house wine was just fine, as with most Italian restaurants; but the other selections were reasonable as well. For dessert I opted for the panna cotta accompanied by a double espresso. My buddy...too full. A perfect ending to a classic dish!
