The Restaurant at the Houston Lodge Marketplace reopened with a new owner in August of 2016. We serve good comfort food at decent prices, in a comfortable Alaskan setting. Come check out the new Lodge in Houston!
What a breath of fresh air this place is. Clean inside and out. And the service is right on.
The food came out quick and was very fresh. The server was friendly and attentive. The menu has lots of homemade items and the taste is fresh.
The prices are some of the lowest around. The bar has a great selection of beer and wine. If you are looking for a nice ride out of Anchorage to eat, this is the place.

We stopped here for a mid afternoon lunch and were greeted by a couple of the nicest people you would find anywhere. The restaurant is clean and bright and the restrooms were as clean as you would find anywhere. Pricing is reasonable. We had the ground sirloin, a classic cheese burger, pork roast and sloppy joe. All were considered outstanding and plentiful by the folks in our group. We will go back again. They also have cabins for rent in the back of the lodge.

we are a drive up coffee stand that serves snacks and drinks. We have outside picnic seating.
Stopped twice going up and coming down. Outstanding dry cappuccino and latte. This lady knows good coffee and how to make a dry cappuccino.

Our tour bus stopped here and they had a ton of rest rooms that were very clean. The other great thing was the wide selection of ice cream including soft serve. I got a milkshake that was outstanding. When asked about large or regular, I got regular as it was way big enough for me. Many other folks on the bus got stuff that was fantastic.
Wife got pistachio ice cream and it was great. Service was fast as they cranked through a bus load of folks in no time. Tour guide told us he stops here all the time and always get good service. They have other eats but we all focus on the ice goods.
You have to see the wacky Ice Cream Cone monuments outside.

We stopped in for lunch. Disappointments included: out of pizza, out of sweet otayo fries, burned and inedible regular fries, & overdone potstickers. Good things: mushroom barley soup, burger and friendly service. Plus, the restroom was clean.
