I travel through Douz often and am always looking for a good restaurant to eat at. I finally found it. Great prices, yummy food and nice atmosphere-- especially at night, on the roof. This is where I will be eating from here on out.

Fabulous multi-course meal in the Sahara desert just outside Douz, Tunisia. Traditional tents and huts set up for dining. The meal is cooked in a traditional taboona and if absolutely delicious. There are traditional musicians who walk around and play for you and often encourage you to join them in dancing the traditional way. When for meal is ready the chef brings you around the taboona to see how the meal has been cooking and how things are prepared in the traditional way. Awesome evening.

The food and service were third rate, Seating was limited and the place was filthy. Queues on a buffet that ran out very quickly subsequently didn't eat at all....in retrospect, lucky them! I would most strongly advise never to even think of dining here.

La Tente is not far from Sahara and El Mouradi hotels. The access is through guarded gate. The selection of the dishes is typical as in other restuarants in Douz.
