Leone l'Africano Pizzeria, is the only real Italian Pizzeria in Dodoma. We also served home made pasta, dry pasta, mishkaki and others delicious meals. Come to visit us and enjoy our place and our food. Karibuni!
Based on positive reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to stop for pizza enroute between Iringa and Arusha. We were not disappointed! Food was excellent - we tried the pizza, spaghetti, gnocchi. Who would have guessed you could get such good Italian in Dodoma?
Service was quite good too - the owner was not around on the Saturday lunch when we visited, but the waitress was very competent and capable. We were surprised how quickly our food arrived for a larger group of 7.
The ambience is a bit run-down, which made the good food all the more unexpected.
Great stop for a break in Dodoma during a road trip!

Sipe has now moved to the New Dodoma Hotel, and is called Cesare's. They make their own pasta, bring in Parmesan from Italy, use local vegetables. Also great espresso. Mama mia!

We most enjoyed the convenience of this restaurant being attached to the New Dodoma Hotel, where we spent the night. The menu was extensive and food was reasonable, but portions were a bit small and dishes were expensive, especially for this part of Tanzania. The only other patrons during our dinner were Chinese, so I suppose that's a good sign. The Chinese manager was not particularly friendly and she was easily overheard Barking orders at the Tanzania staff, which was very off-putting. The staff, however, were very attentive and competent.

You are met by friendly servers, and the grilled chicken is great! They have many other things as well. The goat and beef are also good. They have very cold drinks!! I enjoy every time that I go there.

Had lunch here several times in an 8 day span. Food consistently good. Other expats or foreigners regularly eat here, if that’s any indication about the food. Excellent value. Owner attentive and speaks good English. Obviously this is not a Michelin rated spot, however as a picky eater I definitely felt Rose’s safe enough for all the cooked items they served. It is right on the street albeit thankfully it is not a busy thoroughfare so the dust factor was minimal. And if you are concerned about dust, Africa is not exactly the continent to visit.
Ask for the pili pili, they make an excellent version!
