It is the administrative capital and commercial centre of Finland's northernmost province, Lapland. It is situated about 6 kilometres (4 miles) south of the Arctic Circle and is between the hills of Ounasvaara and Korkalovaara, at the confluence of the river Kemijoki and its tributary, the Ounasjoki. The city and the surrounding Rovaniemen maalaiskunta (Rural municipality of Rovaniemi) were consolidated into a single entity on 1 January 2006. The new municipality has an area of 8,016.75 square kilometres (3,095.28 sq mi), thus making it the largest city in the European Union by land. Rovaniemi has an approximate population of 62,000.

Been to this cafe & bar loads of times - good food, drinks are the usual price ( always seems expensive to us brits) - the staff always have a smile and good with everyone. Try it out as we love it.

Dinner visit for us at 6:30pm. Restaurant very quiet we were the only couple inside and there must have been about six outside. Get a menu from the bar, order and pay there. We both had the reindeer stew with mash and a drink. Choice of bread and some salad was included in the price. Pretty quick getting the order out food pretty average to be honest I definitely couldn't get excited about it.Good if your on a budget and don't want anything fancy. Pretty average overall. The one member of staff we interacted with was friendly and efficient.

This pub has 3 beers from the tap (local beer), and different choises with beers from abroad.Prices are medium and we had to order at the bar.This pub stays open until the morning (like several in Rovaniemi), but is one of the popular pubs.

Dcandic is supposed to have same menu and taste allaround world BUT its not. Rovaniemi is more than you can wait. Food iwas actually really good. We talk about hotel and rooms later but... it do not look really good. We will see...w
