It is located on the north-east shore of Lake Arenal. The former village of Arenal near the La Fortuna area was inundated in 1978 with the formation of the artificial Lake Arenal. Nuevo Arenal was a government project to relocate the displaced people. Nuevo Arenal is located about a one-hour drive northwest from the original village along a beautiful paved lakeside road that goes from La Fortuna to Tilaran.

The view is fabulous - the restaurant is well located on a knoll overlooking the lake with sweeping views...and benefiting from a cooling breeze. The service personnel are attentive and provide good suggestion as to what meals to try. Our family ate here several times over the course of a week and tried nearly everything on the menu - all was good.

We were staying here during low season, but with some notice, the restaurant stayed open late for us and prepared a fantastic dinner for us. The service was great, and the added accommodation was much appreciated! Beautiful view and tasty meal- can't beat it!

Our experience gives this restaurant an average rating although others gave it better. We tried this based on TripAdvisor. I ordered a cheeseburger and was told the hamburger meat had not arrived from San Jose so no burgers. I then ordered a beef burrito which, sad to say, I could not detect any beef. It was mostly refried beans. Perhaps no beef because the supply had not arrived. We also watched a cat jump up onto the bar. French fries were very good, though. Overall, we would not visit this restaurant again.

We have been in Costa Rica now for over a week and although the food we have eaten has generally been good, the food at this place has been the best by far! There are 4 of us travelling together and we all agree that the food here is the most authentic, delicious, fresh and properly priced. The casados are great and the fajitas too. Fresh ingredients and large portions. I am reliably informed that the desserts are delicious (I couldn’t eat them because they were not gluten free). If you are GF, tell the owner and he will make sure you get a great meal GF without compromising on flavour. If we were staying in Nuevo Arenal more days, we would eat here everyday!! This is a fairly new restaurant in Arenal. We had two very good entrees which we took with us. Portions are very generous and plenty of food to share. Their menu is extensive and includes Chinese dishes, fried chicken, salads, a variety of hot dishes along with "platos del dias" and "bocas"(bar food). There is a well-stocked bar as well as eat-in facilities.
