This little unimposing place was recommended by the people in the antiques center across the street. If you didn't know it was there, you'd drive right by it. But DON'T drive by! We arrived toward closing but they were pleasant, welcoming and did not rush us. The meatloaf sandwich was to die for, the chicken sandwich good but not as great as the meatloaf. The guy at adjacent table was having soup and it looked fantastic. I could even smell it. Prices were reasonable, service was great, food was even greater. Don't miss this place. Next time we're in the area, we will go earlier and get the stuffed cabbage...that looked yummy.

Visiting New Hampshire my friend recommended this restaurant so I decided to check it out. Very friendly folks. I immediately was offered to the fisherman special and I say okay it consists of halibut and shrimp as well as fries what I found interesting is that the breading is just right not so much breadi that you can't taste the fish or the shrimp very well cooked outstanding meal I will come back again

I've eaten here a few times when in the area, and their chili is one of the best I've had. I love the atmosphere -- it's cozy and cool. They also have good live music occasionally at night. Friendly service and customers. A little gem of a place!

Had been aware of this place for sometime, their hours were not convenient for me until today. They have a nice looking web presence, although clumsy to use on a smart phone. Their Menu presented on the web is a bit sparse, but they present themselves as the place to go when you want a first class beer experience. Walking up to the "front" door I was struck by the lousy condition of the outside, the paint is blistered and peeling. The front door has a sign instructing that the entrance is on the side of the building. The entrance is dark, not inviting, we should have taken that to be a clue as to what was ahead. I was visiting with my 25 YO Daughter, I am not tall, but somewhat more than 200 pounds. The entrance is directly in front of the bar area where the Bartender was hanging out, we grabbed a table near the end of the bar, just a few yards from the Bartender, and in direct line eye-site of the Bartender. The place had only a half dozen customers, we sat for ten minutes, the Bartender spent her time talking to the three guys at the bar, giving them occasional High Fives, while we sat not even ten feet away. We watched as a couple arrived, went to the bar, ordered and received their beers, and then moved to a table. The Bartender was very active, covering her bar area and even going over to the entrance door to look out, but the entire time she did not even look in our direction. This seemed to be something out of the 1960's TV series "Twilight Zone". We obviously were invisible. Obviously the rule here is to approach the Bar and ask for service. Otherwise you are not worthy of service. After 20 minutes we decided that it was time to move along to someplace else. It was disappointing as they have a lot of games available, my daughter was disappointed as she and her friends would have been interested in stopping in to play the games, especially the pinball. So, instead we went up the alley to Clark's Tavern, where we were welcomed right away.
