We stayed at the Sister's Sea Lodge but only ate there a couple of times. It seems to be popular with the locals. Over 4 days we stayed, there was always a table of regulars enjoying a drink or two. The food was good but a bit on the expensive side. If you care to read about a trip to Dominica visit our not for profit blog havecarryonwilltravel.com. The portions are large and my wife and I shared one entree which made the meal more than affordable. It is worth a visit.

The LOFT is the only full menu Seafood Restaurant in Dominica located right on the water and just a 5 minutes walk south of the main cruise ship port in Roseau. Join us for lunch and/or dinner and ask what fresh came off the boat. Mega Bite, the Deep Sea
We had lunch here and we will be back this week for dinner. They have the menu on a chalk board with a variety of local flavoured dishes. Both our dishes were delicious. We were seated outside in the shade of some trees with a view on the bay and the beach. Caribbean style deluxe. They also serve an exellent espresso. This is a place to remember.

If you spend any length of time in Dominica; you will probably end up at the Balas Bar in Fort Young. I've been ending up there for 4 years and will probably continue to do so, by chance and not necessarily by choice. I'll start with the good parts; the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The setting is nice, chairs are comfortable, and the big as* fan (that is the brand name) helps help the temperature down. It is a good place to go for a drink and to have an after work meeting, as long as the place is not too busy. If the bar is nearing standing room only, you will not get served or service will take hours. That microwaved quesadilla you ordered? yes that will take an hour and a half and be cold when it arrives. Also, don't bother asking to hold any of the condiments; that doesn't happen. In short, hold the food and avoid when it is busy.

I think in general the overall restaurant scene in Dominica has suffered since the hurricane and therefore the overall quality of food. This restaurant with great views and decoration was empty and then the overall quality of the food and service suffered with it. I really liked the place and I really hope they recover because the place deserve it
