Reviews on Pub food in Agrigento, Province of Agrigento, Italy. Though Agrigento is a modern city of about 60,000 on Sicily’s southwest coast, the majority of visitors come to experience the past just outside of town. At the Valley of the Temples (Valle dei Templi), citizens of the then-major Greek colony of Akragras began building seven Doric style holy monuments in the sixth century BC. The nearby Archaeological Museum helps put everything into context. Agrigento also has some fascinating sights in its old town, like the medieval Norman cathedral.

Fantastic atmosphere, genuine and top quality food, kind and not pretentious staff very helpful and smiling. During my 10 days holiday I went there 3 times! Putia is the proof than you can do an amazing job without compromise the essential Sicilian spirit!

Went there for a quick dinner and a drink, attracted by the nice atmosphere and music (AltJ playing). The bar is indeed really nice and chilled, in a nice spot of Agrigento. It is of posh-hypster inspiration and I liked it, but the experience with the order and the food was not as great. First of all the INCREDIBLY slow service: I think 50 minutes to get two very simple cold dishes is too much (tagliere and pane cunzato). Even the first round of drinks took 20 minutes. The waiters told us they had shortfall of personnel that night, fair enough, still not nice watching the owner/manager sitting at another table chilling and chatting with a couple of friends whilst you wait one hour for some cold dish. The food was just ok, you can tell when a bar is born as a nice idea and tries to make food, instead of being a real kitchen or a real restaurant (pane cunzato a bit dry, prosciutto crudo too salty and from a supermarket plastic envelop, you could tell). Maybe a tourist can be fooled, not an Italian! The owner offered a watered-down Limoncello after dinner. The last bad surprise was the impossibility of paying with a card? Really? Nowadays? Again, all in all a place with potential in a nice spot of Agrigento, but not a nice experience. I wouldn't repeat.

Granofino is a restaurant, steak house and pizzeria, which focuses on its menu the quality of the raw material. The selection of meats, fresh pasta and a wide selection of wines, beers and drinks, make it the perfect location for happy hour, lunch and din
Modern, concrete bunker style burger bar++. We may have been unlucky with a particuarly large group of loud men and the noise bounced off the walls BUT....the waitress was charming, albeit with no English, the menu was wide and the food delicious. We ate pizza, burgers and salad. There were also huge slabs of meat on display. The beer selection was good and by the time we left, 9.30 on Sunday night, it was full.

My husband is Italian and he loved the seafood fettuccine. So did I for that matter! The menu was interesting and offered many seafood options. The waiter was very attentive and recommended an exquisite white wine called Scira. Absolutely divine. We were so impressed we had 2 bottles for the four of us. We are staying nearby and have made reservations for our last night in Sicily. I would highly recommend this place that overlooks the sea.
