KwaZulu-Natal (/kwɑːˌzuːluː nəˈtɑːl/; also referred to as KZN and known as "the garden province") is a province of South Africa that was created in 1994 when the Zulu bantustan of KwaZulu ("Place of the Zulu" in Zulu) and Natal Province were merged. It is located in the southeast of the country, enjoying a long shoreline beside the Indian Ocean and sharing borders with three other provinces and the countries of Mozambique, Swaziland and Lesotho. Its capital is Pietermaritzburg and its largest city is Durban. It is the 2nd most populous province in South Africa, with slightly fewer residents than Gauteng.

Had a great evening at the restaurant, Freddy & his staff were on point and made sure we had an enjoyable evening. We were the last patrons to leave on the eveing. Had the jalapeno poppers as starters and the 1kg giant prawns as a main. Wow! Loved the prawns, we ordered them medium so had that slight kick but could also taste the lemon butter coming through the devine sauce.Drinks- 4starsFood - 5 stars Service- 4 starsKeep up the great work, will definitely visit the establishment when we visit Ballito again.Hi Zubz1515,What a lovely review! Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with this feedback, something I will be sure to pass onto the managers and kitchen staff as they will be so thrilled to hear! We visited shortly after this restaurant opened. The table service was excellent although the food took a little longer than expected to arrive. The decor and menu are of the chain restaurant variety. We enjoyed the chicken livers, calamari and grilled prawns. Our server was very attentive and efficient.Thank you for the balanced review! Hope we get to welcome you back again soon!

We have always been meaning to go to Beira Alta, but never went....finding good Portuguese food mostly is pretty disappointing. We had a warm welcome, with attentive staff, in a restaurant with a nice family vibe. The Menu was tempting and it seems they run regular specials. We wanted authentic Portuguese chicken, and were not disappointed. The sides were fresh and homemade with marinades that had you wiping the plates with the freshly baked bread. We definately will go and try some more items, and actually look forward to experiencing some more Beira Alta hospitality.

Service was not too great as we had two waitrons and a manager serve us so we werenât sure who was helping us all along. The prego steak roll was awful - it was a thin thin slice of dull bland steak served in a sauce soaked roll which made it soggy to the tough. We sent it straight back. The peri peri chicken and grilled veg was divine though!Their cocktail jars were tasty - we ordered three in total but they were different across the board in taste. The two green drinks (I think it was called a green mamba or green sting) had too much alcohol in the one drink, and not enough in the other - bar needs to make sure their measurements are correct.I would definitely go back though!Hi Micfranmf, Thank you for this very balanced and well-written review. I am sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience at our store. This is not how we want our customers to experience their time with us. Please will you forward me your contact details so that I may be in touch with you with regards to your trip to Mozambik? My email address is [email protected] regards,Fern
