Palampur is a hill station and a municipal council in the Kangra Valley in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is the tea capital of northwest India, surrounded by pine forests and flanked by the Dhauladhar ranges. The town derives its name from the local word palum, meaning lots of water. There are numerous streams flowing from the mountains to the plains from Palampur. The combination of greenery and water gives Palampur a distinctive look.

Temple of Jakahni Mata is located in Dugh Village ahead Gallu Langha and comes within judiciary of Palampur. One can reach by car though at last points the road is in poor condition..from Palampur market it takes about 1 hour to reach temple of Jakhani Mata...the views are best...here you will find two tea stalls
Awesome small road trip from our hotel with a beautiful view of the palampur valley. Hood we went to the Mandir which is frequented by the locals only and not many tourists..

The Khad is within a walking distance from the Himachal Tourism's hotel T bud. The water is fresh and flows through a shallow ravine. The views of the Himlayas from here is breathtaking. There are many tea gardens all around. Nice place for a picnic.
