I thought long and hard before posting this after so many glowing reviews, but am doing so in the hope the owners take it on board (although with the number of tourists in grindelwald they probably donât need too).Firstly the positives. This is a nice atmospheric restaurant and the owners are lovely. The pizzas have very good basesAnd the negatives leading to this ratingThe ingredients for the toppings just arenât good quality. I had a simple pizza, with ham and mushroom. The ham was like the stuff you get as a cheap value item from a supermarket. Mushrooms were ok, just not many. Sprinkled with dried herbs. I think it was 26-28 francs. For this I would have expected decent quality ham and fresh herbs. On top of this there was way too much cheese. As a result all I can say is it was very average. We have a few nice pizza restaurants in Bristol that are simply leagues ahead taste wise as a result of using better quality ingredients, which is a shame as onkel toms with their bases has the potential to be awesome if they improve their toppings. It pains me to write this, I hope the owners take it as intended, which is as Constructive criticism.

Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor - it ticked all the boxes for our group of six. It was asparagus season and there was a special menu incorporating the region's white asparagus. Several of us ordered the chicken with asparagus and risotto - delicious! The margarita pizza was also very good (especially as a snack the next day). Our only complaint was that they wouldn't seat us in the dining room as it was "reserved" for hotel guests. The room was empty when we arrived and empty when we left. The room where we ate as well as the service was fine. The menu offered lots of choices, and the food was good.

Nothing bad here. Tourist food in a tourist town. Prices are decent for what it is. Pizza was good. Chicken ok. Beer great! Not high end but a good place to relax to eat.

We came in hungry after a day of hiking, hoping to have a good italian dinner. The waitress lack of smile was the first sign, but we decided to seat and order. Then the food arrived within a minute from ordering. That was the second sign something is off. When the flies joined our meal and buzzed around the food nonstop we really started to get mad. Trying to kill one of them I knocked my drink, no response from the crew and of course no one offered to replace the drink. If at least the food was good - we would be ok. The pizza was soggy, the pasta was blend. Stay away.
