Joe's Bar is unique to the Island as it is located within the local Newsagents and Post Office and has become the hub of the village life. Excellent outside facilities with garden and patio. Good quality locally sourced food served 7 days a week. Roast di
Friends who live in Niton invited us ,together with another couple ,for Sunday lunch. This is a quirky place which somehow had the air of a French establishment. We walked passed the Post office section which had a few tables overlooking the road, then the small bar ,next to the back of the building where possibly 20 patrons could be seated. Beyond was a delightful garden with further outdoor seating. There were two choices of Sunday roast with vegetables, which three of our group selected. The remaining three ate from the specials board. In my case pork ribs on bubble and squeak with kale. About £10.50 I believe. The roast dinners were less. The atmosphere was homely with families and couples enjoying their meals. The service was acceptable and the food good. Tables are scrubbed wood . The toilets were clean. No great claims to anything other than a friendly pleasant eatery with alcohol .

Came over to the island for a few days last minute, previously ate at the Sun Inn twice in our visit in May. We returned and were not disappointed. Plenty of gluten free choices on offer. Separate menu, special board is clearly marked. They have good grasp of cross contamination. I had the homemade cottage pie, but other choices include burgers, chips and onion rings. This is a typical island county pub so donât expect grand surroundings but the food is wonderful and the welcome is warm. Highly recommend

Ventnor is a feast for all the senses, especially during the Fringe. Where to eat between gigs? Stripped was our target. The rustic interior, a bank I never used when I lived in Ventnor during the 1980s, has a 'trendy London' feel, albeit in a positive, and not monetary way. The food was great, service attentive and friendly. Not the place for a quiet meal, but perfect for a cultural night out in one of the Island's loveliest towns.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Food is wonderful and reasonably priced. We stayed in Shanklin for a week and were so impressed that we ate at Pavarottiâs 3 times. Youâll need to book, itâs usually busy, but we simply decided on the day and phoned to book during the afternoon. Eat downstairs for the best atmosphere.

Makkieâs is a small, clean and friendly Italian pizzeria in Shanklin. Everything is freshly made and you can watch the chefs flip the pizza in the open kitchen. It is the nicest pasta and pizza weâve had in a long time. The dough is incredible! I donât like cheese and it was no problem to accommodate me - my garlic bread with oil and olives was delicious! We couldnât believe how reasonably priced it was for the quality. A pizza, salad, pasta dish, garlic bread and drink was £27! Portion sizes were huge and service excellent. Highly recommend!
