Family style dining, also known as casual style dining, offers moderately priced entrees. Featuring a mix of cuisines, individualized with signature taste. Family style dining can be any number of themes, from Americana (American Fried Chicken) to Italian
Based on the reviews, I came here for grilled whole fish. The menu outside said "ALWAYS FRESH FISH AT DISPALY, SEE IT BY YOURSELF". But none was on display, nor was any on the menu. From the very limited seafood offerings, I ordered the cataplana instead. 12,5⬠got me mushy shrimps, rubbery squids, and IMITATION CRAB STICK (red pieces in the picture). IMITATION CRAB STICK served as seafood in an Azores restaurant??? You've got to be kidding!!! Extremely salty sauce. Must be days old.

Small restaurant but their pizzas are very good and you should try their club sandwiches. They also have a menu of the day.The service is impeccable, the owner is very friendly person. I highly recommend this place to eat with family and friends.
Top 10 Portuguese food in Angra do Heroismo, Azores, Portugal
The restaurant was very accommodating for our group of 23. We called ahead for our reservation and the table was set and ready to service upon arrival. There were many choices of pizza toppings. The owner suggestions were on point. We had a total of 5 different pizzas from plain cheese, Hawaiian to the works and all were tasty with a nice crispy crust. If you are in São Sebastião be sure to stop by and have a slice.

We stumbled upon this eatery as we took a stroll from our hotel (the old fortress) to view the bull statues, which are outside the bull-fighting arena. It was an easy walk and away from the "touristy" (although there aren't too many tourists in the Azores...yet) locations and sites. On our walk, we passed Tutti Food and what caught our eye is how fresh, modern and new it appeared. As we ventured in to explore, we saw that it was a restaurant with a cafe, serving pastries and coffee/expresso on the other side. The restaurant is mostly a sit-at-the bar lay out. Think old-school American Diners...but clean and new! It seemed really fresh and we could tell it was a good choice among the locals for we were the only tourists there. We decided then that we'd head back later that night for a late dinner. The food did not disappoint. Personally, I wasn't wowed by any of the meals in the Azores (the cakes and pastries are a different story!) so I didn't have high expectations of Tutti Food. However, it was good and one of the better meals we actually had during our trip. The service was very attentive and friendly. Between my family and I, we had chicken and rice soup, bread, fried chicken, fried pork fingers/salad and the pizza. Everyone was pleased with their choices. FYI. The fried chicken is a big meal--leg, breast, thigh and one more piece which I think was another breast. As for the pastries, we had a donut, and some chocolate vanilla cream cake. This was the last meal of our trip and we were very pleased to find and dine at this establishment off -the-beaten path.
Where to eat Mediterranean food in Angra do Heroismo: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We were really struggling to find somewhere to eat which had vegetarian options so were thrilled when we came across Tasco's Happy Hour. It is on the main coastal road and you can spot it by the parked cars on either side of the road and what looks like a family event taking place in the garden. This is actually the pizzeria/restaurant. There is both covered and outside seating with a view of the coast. The welcome is a warm Italian one and all of the staff and owner go out of their way to ensure that you have a great time. We were given a welcome 'shot' sorbet on arrival and the kind waitress took us through the menu which was written in Portuguese. She was very happy for us to customise our pizza with toppings which suited us and we could have half-and-half, personalising it even further. The tasty pizza was large with a thin crust and we followed it with delicious desserts (tiramisu and a molten chocolate cake). The location is excellent, the food is delicious, the staff are helpful and friendly and there is a wonderful happy vibe - that lovely sound of people of all ages having a good time. We could have almost been in Italy! When we visited, the restaurant was open 18.00 - 22.00 and was busy - always a good sign. They also offer take away. We can happily recommend this for an enjoyable meal.
